Natural Family Planning (NFP) Resources

Natural Family Planning is a group of fertility awareness methods that allow a couple to track their fertility and teach them how to use that information to avoid or achieve pregnancy.  It is in line with Church teaching on marriage and sexuality, and respects the dignity of both spouses when used correctly.

**Scheduling note:  Most methods of Natural Family Planning use a system that includes multiple classes over at least 3-4 months in order for you to properly learn the method.

There are several NFP methods available, and this article does a good job of describing their differences. At this link, you can find descriptions of different methods as well as a quiz to help you discover which might be the best fit for you. Many methods have both in person and online classes, and some have self-paced online classes, as well.

The chart below shows the various methods available in the Seattle area.  You can find more information about each method and how to register on their websites, or you can contact teachers in the Seattle area using this page of the Seattle Archdiocese's Marriage and Family life website.  Most methods have either scholarships or sliding scale fee systems available -- just ask!
