Yuhao Zhang
Yuhao Zhang is a mezzo-soprano from Zhengzhou, China. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Central Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance at the University of Washington, where she studies with Thomas Harper.
Her operatic experience includes appearances as Les Chiffres in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Third Child in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Lolette in Puccini's La rondine and Second Alice in Alice Tierney. She has also performed scenes from Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer, Rossini’s La Cenerentola, and Strauss’s Der tapfere Soldat. Her choral repertoire includes Massenet’s Le portrait de Manon and Fauré’s Pavane. During her studies in music, she has participated in more than fifteen concerts and three solo recitals. She was honored to perform Handel’s Messiah and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament.
Her artistic interests include opera, art song, and sacred music, with particular enthusiasm for German and English repertoire. Having studied in both China and the United States, she brings a broad cultural perspective to her work as a performer. She values collaboration with fellow musicians and is grateful for every opportunity to study, perform, and continue growing as a singer and musician.
