Theology of Marriage Retreat

We are looking forward to welcoming you at our Theology of Marriage Retreat next Friday and Saturday, July 8-9!

The retreat will be held at the Prince of Peace Newman Center at the University of Washington. UW Catholic Newman Center (uwnewman.org) The address is 4502 20th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98105. For those who haven't been to the Newman Center, parking is available in a lot adjacent to the building. There should be plenty of parking for the retreatants.

I loved the content and the presenters were fabulous. The environment was very relaxed and comfortable. Great location!

I loved how community-oriented it was. The wine and cheese with the icebreaker at the beginning was my favorite because it gave me such a good first impression of what the rest of the weekend was going to be like! I also LOVED Angela’s talk - she was amazing and so real and I wrote so many notes down from her talk!

This retreat, as the name implies, covers a lot of Theology! Some of the attendees may be familiar with the theology that will be discussed, and some may not. Whether you've had years of theology study or none, if you're engaged, this will probably be your first time of in-depth Theology of Marriage study with your intended spouse, and a good opportunity to look at the Church's beautiful teachings with your beloved. If you're one of the mentor couples attending, and already married, you probably know how easy it is to forget the high calling of married couples in day-to-day life, and this will be a good refresher for you.

Each of our presenters welcomes your questions during their talks, and will try to leave time for questions at the end of their talks as well. We will also provide an Anonymous Q&A box in case you prefer to ask your questions that way. To be clear, you're welcome to raise your hand and ask a question if you'd like! We will also provide notebooks for retreatants in case you'd like to take notes during the presentations.

Meals on Saturday

We will be enjoying both lunch and dinner together on Saturday during the retreat. (Snacks will be provided on Friday evening and during the day on Saturday.) Please look at the menus linked below and provide me with your choices for lunch and dinner for Saturday. I will need to place these orders by July 7, so please make sure to get back to me quickly! For those of you with food restrictions, we've tried to choose meal providers with many options. Please let me know if you have questions.

Lunch on Saturday, from Ingallina's Boxed Lunches: Box Lunch Seattle | Sandwich Executive Lunches | Salad Box Lunches (ingallina.net)

Please choose a sandwich or salad from the Value Boxes offered by Ingallina's

If you have requests (such as "no tomato," or "no cheese") please include those clearly in your return email to me

Dinner on Saturday, from Razzis Pizzeria: RAZZiS PIZZERiA - Greenwood (razzispizza.com)

Please choose an entree from the menu

Please note that there are Traditional, Gluten Free, Vegan, and Gluten Free/Vegan offerings, and be sure to let me know from which menu you'd like to order.

Again, please clearly note special requests for your meal, if any.

The Marriage Preparation Prayer Team will be keeping the retreatants, presenters, and everyone involved in running the retreat in their prayers, both as we prepare and through the time of the retreat itself. We ask that you join in those prayers.
