In honor of the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Blessed Sacrament presents Assistant Organist, Youngjin Joo, and members of the Cantorei in an evening of reflections on Marian chants. Beginning with Ave Maris Stella (Hail, Star of the Sea), the program progresses through an alternation of introspective and peaceful Gregorian chants, impressive organ works based on the chants or their texts, and renaissance settings of the chants. For those inclined to prayer, this evening will serve as a unique opportunity to entreat the Blessed Virgin and for those inclined to pure musical appreciation this evening will be a stunning reflection on the various ways these historic texts have been treated across media in different ages.
