Chris and Michele Hanzeli
We have been married for 15 years and have four sons: Peter (5), Aaron (8), Matthew (10) and Daniel (12). There never seems to be a dull moment in the house! We’ve been parishioners at Blessed Sacrament 17 years, though Chris’ family has been part of the parish for 60 years.

Fun fact: We were born at the same hospital in Redmond, though neither of our families lived there. Chris grew up in Kent, and Michele spent the first half of her childhood in Seattle, before moving to a farm in the small town of Rochester, WA.
We met at the Newman Center (Catholic Campus Ministry) at the University of Washington. Michele was a freshman and Chris was a year ahead. It took us a few years to become good friends, but we eventually found a mutual love of our faith and community at the Newman Center which drew us together quickly. We were engaged a couple of weeks after graduation and thank God every day for our relationship.
Michele (a stay-at-home mom) likes to read, cook, garden, and create all sorts of crafty things. Chris (a fundraiser for the Western Dominican Province) enjoys camping, projects around the house, great conversation over drinks, and is an avid Xbox golfer. Both Chris and Michele appreciate a good movie night and travel/road trips. We have also enjoyed being involved in marriage prep/enrichment in the parish, and presenting marriage topics to groups at the UW Catholic Newman Center.
In addition to marriage prep and RCIA at the Newman Center, Chris participates in Scouts, men’s nights, and dads and kids activities. Michele is part of the Moms’ Group and Mary and Elizabeth ministry.
