Ari Bell
Ari Bell is a Seattle-based singer, landscape designer, and theater-maker, raised in Highland Park, IL. While studying music as an undergraduate at Vassar College, Ari conducted the Camerata early music choir and helped found the school’s student-led opera collective. Additionally, they were highly involved in Vassar’s theater program, performing in various plays and musicals and developing new works as part of the Britomartis Devised Theatre Ensemble. Ari was the recipient of Vassar’s Lucia V. Torian prize and a winner of its concerto competition. Ari also participated in various vocal summer programs including the Bel Canto Institute, Haymarket, FAVA, Classic Lyric Arts, and Brevard, where they sang the role of Capulet in Roméo et Juliette and covered the role of Blitch in Susannah. As a recent graduate, Ari worked as an administrator in the Vocal Arts department at The Juilliard School, supporting their opera season. Additionally, Ari sang with numerous professional choirs in New York City including The Salvatones and the church choirs of St. Boniface, Corpus Christi, and St. Thomas More. Following their time in NYC, Ari attended the University of Virginia, graduating with their Master’s in Landscape Architecture in 2025. While at UVA, Ari’s research explored the intersection of theater, music, and landscape design, including studies in ecoacoustics and place-based performance. In Seattle, Ari works as a landscape designer at Berger Partnership, sings with the Cantorei of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, volunteers with Annex Theatre, and recently designed the set for Lowbrow Opera Collective’s production of Sally Ride.
