Blessed Sacrament Parish is located at 5050 8th Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
Blessed Sacrament Parish, located in Seattle, Washington, is a Dominican parish with over 1200 registered households. It is located in one of the most beautiful cities in America, yet one that is also known to be one of the most unchurched cities in the country.
The vision of Blessed Sacrament Parish is to be a Center of Faith Formation and Evangelization. This vision stems from the Constitutions of the worldwide Dominican Order, which states, in the Acta from the Chapter of Caleruega:
In parishes we must not be satisfied with preaching to those who come to Mass. We require every province to consider its present commitment to parishes and ask if each one represents the best basis for itinerancy in preaching to the unchurched. Is a particular parish a basis of new evangelization? Can it become so? If not we should probably hand it over to the diocese. (Chapter 2, no. 37)
Blessed Sacrament is a parish of choice, and attracts people from the greater Seattle area. Catholics are drawn to Blessed Sacrament by its beautiful liturgies, its excellent preaching, its outreach ministries, and its education and faith formation programs, which are seen to constitute the centerpiece of parish life.
