Chimney Repairs The old brick chimney was seriously damaged in the quake, and needed to have a new core installed, as well as a complete tear-down of the brick work, some tuck-pointing, and construction of a new brick stack. The photos show the old chimney damage, demolition, and the new chimney core lifted into position by crane. That's Fr. Reginald tightening the last bolt on the flue! And finally, the new bricked chimney, completed in October.
